So, less than a couple of months after deciding to mix things up on the site I’ll be making some more changes! The posts covering our dividend millionaires and other general investing articles won’t change – at the moment you can find a link to those articles at the top of the website. I’m going through the article archive, slowly cleaning it up and soon you’ll find all of those pieces under their own category.
Originally the plan was to cover a basket of twenty stocks that largely made up my own individual holdings. Two changes here. Firstly, I’ve subbed out Reckitt Benckiser for Wells Fargo simply because it is more relevant to the overwhelmingly American readership and I’m opening a DRIP account there in the very near future.
The usual caveats apply. This is not an endorsement of the prospects of any individual constituent from today’s share price. It’s a more of a ‘force me to own twenty stocks for twenty years and I would probably pick a list that looks something like this’. On that note you can see the updated composition below.
The second change concerns enhanced coverage of single stocks. The other part of the plan was to cover an additional small universe of stocks over on Seeking Alpha. Now that the viewing stats for the site are growing at a healthy clip I’ve decided everything will go here under one roof.
The enhanced list covers around fifty companies in total. Again, the usual caveats apply. This is definitely not an exhaustive list of the best names in the world. In fact you’ll probably notice that quite a few of them are not so good businesses. They are just stocks I like keeping tabs on for a variety of different reasons. It is by no means exhaustive, so other names may appear from time to time.
Likewise, plenty of high quality blue chip stocks are not there – usually because I don’t enjoy writing about their industries (e.g. Johnson & Johnson, even though it is a superb asset to own). Keeping with recent practice I’ll provide disclosure at the bottom of these articles so you know where I stand on any given name. As always, thank you for reading!
